Louis Vuitton’s One-of-a-Kind Sneakers for J-Hope

Louis Vuitton has unveiled the newly created “LV BUTTERSOFT Sneaker,” a collaboration between Pharrell Williams, the brand’s Men’s Creative Director, and House Ambassador J-Hope.

J-Hope is a member of BTS and is an artist, dancer, rapper, and producer. Since joining Louis Vuitton as a House Ambassador in 2023, he has embodied the energy, forward-looking creativity, and artistic spirit the brand pursues.

The new “LV BUTTERSOFT Sneaker” began as a custom-made shoe created for J-Hope, who is set to join BTS’s world tour, “BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG,’” kicking off this April. Combining the lightness and flexibility of track running shoes with Louis Vuitton’s refined Italian leather craftsmanship, it is designed to deliver both comfort and iconic detailing. Hand-stitching and hand-painting further elevate the finish to a near made-to-measure level.

The springy layered rubber outsole and soft calf suede upper are finished in a bright rose-and-white color palette, showcasing J-Hope’s signature warm, vibrant energy. The wide-woven laces are accented with a “Monogram Clochette Key” tag, and the lace tips are engraved with the phrase “Your, My Hope,” inspired by his name and capturing the artist’s hopeful outlook.

A textile label inspired by the “Speedy P9” bag was also adapted to suit the shoe’s design and applied to the inside of the tongue. An embossed capsule-collection-exclusive logo appears on the leather patch on the outside of the tongue, alongside a “Louis Vuitton Paris” stamp and J-Hope’s signature. An Epi leather patch evoking the details of Louis Vuitton’s iconic travel trunks was added to the toe and heel. In particular, beneath the Epi leather patch on the heel, squirrel- and acorn-shaped charm details are hidden—an element inspired by likening J-Hope’s playful personality to a squirrel character.

Meanwhile, the “LV BUTTERSOFT Sneaker” will be released early in Korea on March 25, and will be available worldwide starting April 30.
