Timothée Chalamet, an ambassador for Cartier, showcased a new Cartier necklace, newly crafted in the Maison's jewelry atelier reflecting his creative input, at the Wink Premier Red Carpet.
This special piece was completed through a meeting with Marie-Laure Cérède, Jewelry and Watchmaking Creative Director at Cartier. In the jewelry atelier located in the heart of Paris, the two shared inspiration and creative vision for the piece based on a series of film stills provided by Timothée Chalamet. Thus, the design studio and atelier collaborated to create a special timepiece infused with the long-standing ambassador's style and personality.
This creation, specially custom-made for Timothée Chalamet by the Maison's atelier, features a white gold structure complementing his skin tone, set with bright and enchanting precious stones such as onyx, opal, tourmaline, and emerald. This necklace, completing Timothée Chalamet's red carpet look, will be added to the Cartier collection and unveiled to the public through exhibitions around the world.
“Over the past few years, I've always worn Cartier jewelry for special occasions. Therefore, the meeting with the Maison's creative studio was even more special. Marie-Laure and I wanted to create a playful and charming piece reminiscent of a candy cane. Willy Wonka is a flamboyant, ambitious, and ingenious character, and this piece is an homage to that character and originality," said Timothée Chalamet.
Meanwhile, Marie-Laure Cérède, Jewelry and Watchmaking Creative Director, said, "This special piece is not just a necklace but a work of art. The white gold structure was a blank canvas, and the palette of over 900 fantastic colored gems was the 'paint'. Each gemstone hand-set in this piece evokes a pointillist painting. This endless visual landscape unfolds to reveal an imaginative universe that is ingenious, magical, opulent, and emotionally rich."
