On February 13th (Tuesday), at the New York Fashion Week, one of the top four fashion weeks in the world, Concept Korea will present the 2024 FW collection fashion show featuring three domestic fashion designers: MMAM by designer Park Hyun, CHARM'S by designer Kang Yohan, and KIMMY J by designer Kim Heejin. The show will take place at Starrett Lehigh in New York and will be broadcasted worldwide through the official New York Fashion Week website.
Concept Korea, hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and managed by the Korea Creative Content Agency, is an official program of New York Fashion Week. It has been hosting various promotional events, including fashion shows and showroom operations. Since its first participation in 2010, it has continuously introduced domestic designers and brands to the global market, leading efforts to expand the base of K-fashion in international markets.
Particularly for this Concept Korea 2024 FW season, Shownu, a member of the globally popular K-POP group Monsta X, will participate as an ambassador to jointly promote Korean designer brands.
Shownu will actively participate in the fashion show as a Concept Korea model on February 13th. The synergy between designers and musicians representing K-fashion and K-POP is expected to enrich New York Fashion Week and strengthen the position of Korean fashion designer brands in the global market.
In addition, during New York Fashion Week, a global campaign video featuring Shownu will be broadcast in Times Square, New York, captivating a worldwide audience. He has also showcased a variety of charms and a unique presence through a photoshoot with Concept Korea.
The Concept Korea 2024 FW collection will be a joint fashion show featuring MMAM by designer Park Hyun, CHARM'S by designer Kang Yohan, and KIMMY J by designer Kim Heejin. The participating brands were selected through fair evaluation by domestic fashion experts, New York Fashion Week organizers, and local representatives in New York. Following the 24SS season, they will present their 2024 FW collection at New York Fashion Week on February 13th (Tuesday) at 1 PM (local time) and continue the global promotion of K-fashion.
'MMAM' offers wearable artwear that diverges from conventional patterns and is inspired by more liberated actions. The brand also advocates for sustainable fashion using eco-friendly materials, moving away from fast fashion. MMAM's 2024 FW collection starts with a return to 90s minimalism, reinterpreting the human instinct to crave playfulness like a child and reflecting on the designer's own childhood in the 90s, conveying a message to make life more valuable regardless of age.
'CHARM'S' targets men and women in their 20s who wish to express their unique charm more stylishly. Beyond just being a clothing brand, it pursues values of cultural exchange and youth. CHARM'S 2024 FW collection aims to express a longing to shine brightly even in darkness, planning to show a variety of details based on the main color black, using cuts and perspective techniques.
'KIMMY J' collaborates with a range of artists who share the same philosophy, including graphic artists, rappers, bands, and composers, through its content production company EVAW. Each collection of KIMMY J, known for creating fresh resonances, is based on the concept of 'Traces of Memories' this season, unveiling a variety of designs inspired by the universe and snow crystals, and planning a mystical fashion show.
Meanwhile, the Concept Korea 2024 FW season fashion show will be live-streamed on February 13th at 1 PM local time on the official New York Fashion Week website, and will later be available on the Korea Creative Content Agency's YouTube channel.
