Fashion brands like Why So Cereals, Second Armoire, Kwak Hyun Joo Collection, BLR, and Holy Number Seven showcased their collections at Seoul Fashion Week held at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) and Seongsu E-Factory.
The BLR (BLR: Representative Kwon Bong-seok) runway show at Seongsu E-Factory for Seoul Fashion Week 2024 F/W presented a more advanced collection of the brand. This collection, led by designer Kwon Bong-seok, is a denim brand that delves deeper into the essence of denim, expressing the aesthetic beauty and the weight shown in the show.
BLR stands for 'Bluer Lives in the Rough', a new denim-based brand providing a rough and opaque mood to the denim archive, receiving attention in the industry since its first participation in Seoul Fashion Week.
This F/W collection, under the concept 'Quiet Riot: Capitalism', focuses on the designer's perception that 'fashion' lies on the boundary between art and commerce, and on the industry's need to sell its creations to consumers to become a sustainable business. Designer Kwon Bong-seok stated, "Running BLR has deepened my contemplation each season between my artistic philosophy and consumer needs. The expectation and anxiety over growth that has enveloped my life and surroundings have pushed me to create my own new capitalism, making the invisible answers increasingly clear."
The overall mood of toned-down colors, with materials like denim, cotton, leather, nylon, and wool, created a heavy atmosphere, focusing on comfortable and cozy silhouettes rather than simple ones. Additionally, the brand was recognized for its high quality and uniqueness through new attempts, such as collaborations with the sports brand Reebok.
By utilizing recycled products like used tires and second-hand items, BLR showcased a variety of reformed works, such as windbreakers, padding, training pants, and shoes, solidifying the brand's essence and receiving high praise from the audience and industry insiders.
The collection day was graced by the presence of many domestic and international buyers, celebs, and fashion influencers, including broadcaster Jeon Hyun-moo, Kundi Panda, VAPO (Heo Won-hyuk), singers KARD (Jeon So-min, Jeon Ji-woo), AOA's Choa, Hwangbo, SES's Bada, Moon Jong-up, JUST B (Jeon Do-yeom, Lee Geon-woo, Bae In), Xdinary Heroes (Lex, Xin, Wayne), and dance group Mannequin.
BLR plans to sequentially showcase from archive items to this season's collection works and collaboration works with Reebok shoes through a pop-up store conducted from March 15th for 10 days in the upward direction on the second floor of Galleria.
