LF has identified ‘Minimal’ and ‘Gurlcore’ as the key trend keywords for the imported women's brands 2024 spring fashion.
LF has analyzed the 2024 SS (Spring/Summer) collection and product launch trends of imported brands such as PATOU, ISABEL MARANT, Vince, LEONARD, forte_forte, and identified these spring fashion trends.
#Following the ‘old money look’, the influence of 1990s ‘minimalism’ leads to ‘sticking to basics’... Focusing on simplicity, practicality
Adding to last year's fashion trends of ‘quiet luxury’ and ‘old money look’, this year has seen an increased focus on the 1990s ‘minimalism’ as the need for subdued looks continues to expand over bold logo play. The essence of 90s minimalism lies in focusing on the simple and basic nature, with simple silhouettes, and classic designs that can be worn for a long time instead of flashy logos.
As the details and silhouettes become more streamlined, the focus on high-quality materials that enhance the essence of clothing is expected to continue this year. Additionally, with the recent attention to styled dressing such as ‘Business Core’ and ‘Office Core’ becoming trendy outfits, fashion brands are launching high-quality material clothing to match the elevated discernment of domestic fashion consumers.
LF highlights the American luxury contemporary brand ‘Vince’, known for its premium cashmere. True to the brand's pursuit of quiet luxury, it focuses on fit and material over excessive details and vibrant colors, conveying an ‘EFFORTLESS LUXURY’ sentiment. Especially this SS season, Vince has introduced a variety of items using its signature premium materials, cashmere mixed with silk. Vince also showcases blouses, skirts, and dresses with a luxurious ‘satin’ material, representing the brand's feminine mood with a naturally flowing feel.
The French luxury designer brand ‘PATOU’ suggests set-up styling using clean and simple silhouettes and monochrome color tweed jackets without excessive decorations.
The 1990s minimalism, influenced by the economic recession, also emphasizes practicality and functionality. It's noteworthy to focus on styling that exudes a restrained and neat mood by layering multiple layers of the same material, same color, or presenting each piece as a set-up.
Furthermore, ‘Utility fashion’, emphasizing natural practicality with details such as pocket details on clean silhouettes, is also one of the fashion trends to watch this year. ‘Vince’ has introduced a variety of items this season that add practicality and fun elements to simple designs with casual mood details like pockets and zippers. Especially in detail composition, the color and thickness of the material are considered to pursue a natural harmony with the clothing without being cumbersome. ‘ISABEL MARANT’ also showcased looks featuring utility fashion mood cargo pants, jackets, etc., in their 24SS collection.
#Print/Detail: Bright spring prints, ruffle/ribbon/gathering details to easily create a 'Gurlcore' look
The 'Gurlcore' look, emphasizing girlish and feminine styles, has seen a rise in designs featuring flowers, ribbons, and details since last year, influenced by the Balletcore trend. Additionally, 'rose' fashion that swept the 24SS runways is expected to bring 'spring prints' that resemble flower petals into prominence this year.
The luxury brand representing French chic, 'ISABEL MARANT', presents silk blend blouses, dresses, skirts with feminine ruffle details, and jackets in a variety of colors that emphasize femininity with ethnic mood patterns.
Artistic mood prints based on craftsmanship are also expected to receive attention. Notably, 'LEONARD' is a French high-end luxury brand loved worldwide for a long time for its unique and sophisticated hand-print techniques on premium materials like silk and cashmere, expressing various floral patterns with international patent technology.
This SS collection introduces fresh patterned items by combining the brand's iconic floral prints with the recently trending 'Artistic' mood geometric prints.
The French luxury designer brand 'PATOU's 24SS collection also emphasized the 'Gurlcore' mood. Items featuring playful and girlish stripe patterns, ribbons, and gathering details that accentuate feminine curves stand out.
The Italian luxury designer brand 'forte_forte', which LF plans to fully launch in the first half of this year, also showcases its unique romantic and artistic mood through exotic prints and a rich color palette, leveraging the finest Italian materials.
This season's 24SS collection highlights items featuring daffodils and petal-blended Heavarium prints inspired by nature, alongside the brand's unique poplin cotton, jacquard, habotai silk, and cashmere for printed cotton voile blouses, printed poplin shirt dresses, and more.
#Color: Bright and soft pastel tones (Peach fuzz, Light green, Pale blue, Light pink, Lavender, Soft blue, Soft gray, Mint, etc.)
This year, soft and warm pastel colors suitable for the 'Gurlcore' style are expected to receive attention. The 24SS collection from the French luxury designer brand 'PATOU' emphasized a more feminine mood than before. The main colors of beige, mint, peach fuzz, and pink stood out on the 24SS runway this season.
'Vince' also embraced bright pastel colors for the 24SS season, incorporating basic neutral tones mixed with soft pastel tones like light green, pale blue, lavender, soft gray as its main colors.
