The creative encounter between Cartier and Timothy Chalamet continued in London on February 15. Following the Wonka premiere, Chalamet presented another special jewelry piece at the Dune red carpet event. This creation, a culmination of Cartier's know-how, was developed by the Maison's jewelry atelier reflecting the creative ideas of the Cartier ambassador.
This piece is the second creation for Timothy Chalamet, the star of Dune, following a unique necklace made for the Wonka premiere. The Maison used over 900 colored stones to represent the desert and the blue eyes of the Fremen characters from the movie 'Dune' in jewelry.
One side of the modular necklace evokes the warm desert with orange, yellow, brown, and white diamonds and inverted setting diamonds that add a spike texture, reminiscent of the steep but beautiful sand dunes. On the other side, sapphires and spinels were used to bring to life the intense blue eyes and vitality of the movie's Fremen natives.
This collaboration began in the Maison's Paris atelier, and Timothy Chalamet met with Cartier's Creative Director, Marie-Laure Cérède, to share inspirations from the aesthetics of the movie 'Dune', archive references, and exclusive stills from the film.
The two creations made for Timothy Chalamet will become part of the Cartier collection and will travel worldwide, showcasing the Maison's creativity and technical expertise at major exhibitions and cultural institutions.
