To commemorate International Women's Day 2024, & Other Stories has unveiled 'Streetside Stories,' an intriguing interview series capturing the diverse and autonomous appearances of women encountered on the vibrant streets of New York, in collaboration with street style photographer Anka Itskovich.
Anka Itskovich, a renowned figure in the fashion world who has worked with Interview Magazine and Harper's Bazaar, started the Instagram-based street style project The Line Up in 2013. Since then, her unique perspective and eye for style have formed a global follower community, becoming a source of inspiration for fashion enthusiasts and creatives worldwide.
'Streetside Stories' follows The Line Up's street style format, guiding viewers into the dynamic streets of New York. Through this project, Anka Itskovich shines a light on the power of true self-expression, working alongside women who encourage others to accept their true selves.
Anka Itskovich said, "For me, self-expression is encapsulated in my project, The Line Up. Roaming the streets of New York, approaching strangers, and drawing out the most genuine and intimate interactions feels like magic. Collaborating with & Other Stories for International Women's Day is meaningful as it encourages diverse experiences of women and strengthens solidarity among women worldwide."
'Streetside Stories' is a work that pays tribute to the unique and impressive stories of women around the world. The powerful images of women are beautifully captured and shared on social media, fostering unity and a sense of community.
Cecilia Mcneil, Sustainability Head at & Other Stories, stated, "Streetside Stories is a tribute to the special stories of women, celebrating the power and diversity inherent in each woman's story. Both Anka Itskovich and & Other Stories believe in the power of highlighting unique stories that encourage self-expression and make each woman stand out."
During the week leading up to International Women's Day, & Other Stories and The Line Up will share 'Streetside Stories' on Instagram, introducing followers to the vibrant and varied expressions of women on the streets of New York.
