PLEATS MAMA (CEO Wang Jongmi) launches the 'Zero Black Edition' as a new challenge for minimizing environmental impact and promoting sustainable fashion.
The 'Zero Black Edition' was initiated to address the issue of water pollution from the dyeing process of threads and fabrics and celebrates 'World Water Day (3/22)' by producing bags without using water in the dyeing process.
In collaboration with Hyosung TNC, Pleats Mama has developed products using 'Recycled Dope Dyed Yarn', which colors the yarn without an additional dyeing process, and presents five new products across three lines: shoulder bags, mini tote bags, and bow backpacks.
Before this development, Pleats Mama had already reduced water usage by 25% in the bag production process by adopting yarn dyeing compared to conventional fabric dyeing, and now, with the application of dope-dyed yarn, it has made a revolutionary change by producing products without using any water.
To commemorate the launch of the 'Zero Black Edition', Pleats Mama offers a 10% discount on the new products through their online and offline stores and presents an ocean-inspired designed ocean badgewith each purchase. Additionally, customers can explore the development journey and environmental significance of the 'Zero Black Edition' through exhibitions available on Pleats Mama's official campaign page and at their offline flagship stores (Samcheong branch, Gwangjang branch).
CEO Wang Jongmi of Pleats Mama stated, "The 'Zero Black Edition' is another bold challenge and journey towards sustainability for Pleats Mama, following our domestic recycled PET bottle and fishing net recycling projects. Please continue to watch our mission to beautify everyday life while minimizing our environmental impact."
