Italian luxury brand Gucci has launched the 'Red Takeover' photo project in celebration of the Gucci Ancora fashion show presented during Milan Fashion Week.
This project, inspired by the new Rosso Ancora red color introduced at the fashion show, reinterprets it through the aesthetics and uniqueness of various artists and high-end magazines. Collaborations included actor Park Gyu-young with Dazed Korea, K-pop artist NewJeans' Hani with Vogue Korea, and K-pop artist Stray Kids' Lino with W Korea, among others.
The new color code Rosso Ancora was inspired by the founder of Gucci, Guccio Gucci, during his time as a porter at the Savoy Hotel in London. It has been a significant color in early Gucci collections, symbolizing the house's 102-year tradition and contemporary aesthetics.
The photo shoot of actor Park Gyu-young and Dazed Korea was themed 'A Woman is A Woman,' reinterpreting the Gucci Rosso Ancora color. Park Gyu-young styled a simple crop top with an interlocking GGmotif metal chain vest and white silk skirt (photo left). She also showcased a black long dress made of nappa stretch leather with a shirt collar design, paired with the Gucci Diana hobo bag featuring a bamboo handle.
K-pop artist NewJeans' Hani and Vogue Korea's photo shoot was themed 'The Shape of Love,' reinterpreting the Rosso Ancora color. Hani matched a crop tank top and blue skirt with Gucci zipper details with a Gucci Horsebit chain bag in rainbow-toned leather with a pink hue, and added a special touch with a red-stitched high-neck scuba jersey top and black faux silk long skirt.
K-pop artist Stray Kids' Lino and W Korea's photo shoot was themed 'The Messenger of Love,' reinterpreting the Rosso Ancora color. In the photo, Lino matched a black t-shirt with Gucci print and patch details with an interlocking G metal bracelet, and in another image, he wore a Gucci logo white t-shirt and a dark blue suit with G dot design, showcasing a perfect fit.
Meanwhile, Gucci conveyed various stories embedded in Gucci Ancora, a term that means "falling in love with fashion through Gucci again," and sought to offer a glimpse into the vision of creative director Sabato De Sarno, who pursues special meaning and dialogue based on fashion and art through this photo project.
