The 'Old Meets Knu' campaign "unites multiple generations of skaters and creators around Vans' iconic sidestripe." It highlights Vans' iconic Old Skool silhouette from the past and the modern silhouette, New Skool, born from reinterpreting the Old Skool.

The beginning of the 'Old Meets Knu' campaign features legendary OG musician and current DJ Kim C along with rising model and DJ Xing Xing. These two are iconic figures representing the culture of their times, like the Old Skool and New Skool, with a common ground in seeking progress based on an understanding of the past.

Additionally, OG and NEW DJs, bridging Vans' two silhouettes, continually inspire each other. In line with this, Vans' friends and skaters, Sunwoo and Hyunbin, have also joined to spotlight the campaign.

The Old Skool, first introduced in 1977 as Style #36, was the first shoe to feature Vans' iconic sidestripe. Today, it has become an iconic silhouette representing creative individuals across various fields such as skateboarding, music, art, and street culture. Vans' innovative sidestripe has solidified its place as an essential fashion item. Today, the Old Skool continues to evolve, embracing a wide range of seasonal colorways and upgraded materials as well as a diverse style across the Vans collection.

Vans' New Skool is a silhouette reinterpreted to fit the sensibilities of a new generation, inspired by the bulky skate shoe designs of the 90s. It features an oversized design of the Old Skool with seasonal colorways, a modern reinterpreted shape, cushiony soles, 3D sidestripes, and chunky laces. It also maximizes durability with a sturdy suede upper.

Famous photographer Ed Templeton and stylist Veneda Carter are well-known pioneers in their fields for pushing the boundaries of creativity. Templeton captures unprocessed genuine moments in photography, while Carter redefines styling standards in fashion. They have infused their unique and innovative perspectives into this campaign, leading the fusion of past and present. The story of Tony Alva and Breana Geering can be viewed through the link.

Cultural leaders and creators worldwide inspire each other while defining Vans' new future styles based on classic designs.
