The Busan International Film Festival's representative educational program, 'CHANEL X BIFF Asian Film Academy', is accepting applicants for this year until April 12th (Friday).
The CHANEL X BIFF Asian Film Academy is a film education program aimed at discovering and nurturing the next generation of filmmakers leading Asian cinema.
Chanel, which has been a patron of the arts for over 100 years, has joined as a co-host of the Asian Film Academy, creating an environment for promising talents who will shape the future of Asian cinema to challenge themselves.
24 participants selected from across Asia will take part in directing, cinematography, sound, and more for a short film to be screened during the 29th Busan International Film Festival. The CHANEL X BIFF Asian Film Academy, running for 20 days from September, will provide an environment for participants from different cultural backgrounds to collaborate through an innovative curriculum that includes workshops, mentoring, masterclasses, and expanded scholarship programs.
Since its inception in 2005, and rebranded as CHANEL X BIFF Asian Film Academy in 2022, the academy under the guidance of a faculty composed of world-renowned directors has produced 407 promising filmmakers from 35 countries over 19 years.
