– 'Quarter Zip' Appears in Latest Collections of Global Luxury Brands, Zip-Up Styling Trend

Samsung C&T Fashion Division has selected the 'Quarter Zip' as the fashion item to watch in 2026.

With growing interest in zip-up products both domestically and internationally, Samsung C&T Fashion Division announced on the 8th that they propose the 'Quarter Zip' as the leading fashion trend item for 2026.

The 'Quarter Zip' refers to knit or sweatshirt garments with a zipper extending about a quarter of the way from the neck to the upper chest, while the 'Half Zip' refers to items where the zipper extends nearly halfway from the neck to the chest.

Zip-up products have traditionally attracted consistent interest from middle-aged men in the sportswear and business casual sectors, and recently they have been gaining popularity across genders and ages, both domestically and internationally, due to their unique advantages.

According to Samsung Fashion Research Institute's own survey, interest in zip-up products has significantly increased since last fall and winter. Naver Data Lab analysis also showed a sharp rise in 'Quarter Zip' searches from November 2025.

On Samsung C&T Fashion Division's online shopping platform, SSF Shop, searches for 'Half Zip' and 'Zip-Up' increased by more than 20% year-on-year during December, and particularly, 'Quarter Zip' searches surged by 2,950% compared to the same period last year. This indicates that the term 'Quarter Zip,' previously not widely recognized, is establishing itself as a new standard for zip-ups.

The rise of the 'Quarter Zip' can also be confirmed through various international examples. Recently, global celebrities' videos and short-form content featuring 'Quarter Zip' styles have become a hot topic, and global luxury brands are showcasing zip-up styling that allows for diverse silhouettes and complex moods in their latest collections.

Samsung C&T Fashion Division anticipates that zip-up products, which can be styled broadly from daily looks to office looks, will draw attention this year, and they proposed various zip-up products released by 8seconds, Beanpole, and GLXY (Galaxy Lifestyle).

8seconds' 'Knit-Like Half-Zip Sweatshirt' is gaining attention for its cozy texture and sophisticated design, and items like the 'Brushed Zip-Up Graphic Sweatshirt' and 'Ribbed Half-Zip Pullover' are popular for creating stylish looks.

Additionally, Beanpole Men introduced items like the 'Casual Soft Cotton Big Quarter Zip Pullover' and 'Barrelby Zip-Up Knit' for luxurious styling, while Beanpole Ladies proposed the 'Wool Cable Quarter Zip Pullover' featuring 100% wool and a cable pattern.

GLXY (Galaxy Lifestyle) is gaining consumer response by presenting a variety of zip-up styles that are suitable for both business casual and everyday wear through casual yet sophisticated products like the 'Chenille Half-Zip T-Shirt' and 'Wool Blend Half-Zip Sweater'.

A representative from Samsung C&T Fashion Division stated, "Consumer interest in quarter zips is being confirmed not only overseas but also in Korea," adding, "Matching various items with quarter zips and half zips can create trendy and differentiated styling."
